Campaign Story
A few weeks ago, our Mama, Ma. Lourdes was rushed in Emergency and admitted to Bocaue Specialist Medical Center because of loss of appetite that leads to severe malnutrition and edema. Due to severe pneumonia my mother need to transfer in Intensive Care Unit for close monitoring. While battling the lung infection, doctors discovered she also has hyperthyroidism, which has begun to affect her heart—causing irregular rhythms and making her feel unusually weak and breathless.
- Pneumonia: needs a full course of antibiotics, oxygen therapy, and close monitoring until her lungs clear.
- Hyperthyroidism: requires anti‑thyroid medication, regular blood tests, cardiology consultations, and possibly radioactive iodine treatment.
- Heart involvement: demands specialist cardiology care, echocardiograms, and medications to stabilize rhythm and protect her heart.
All of this has created mountain‑high medical bills for a family that barely makes ends meet, and it’s draining our savings faster than we imagined. The doctors say with proper, consistent treatment she can recover, but without it, her condition could worsen quickly.
What we’re asking for We are launching a donation drive called “Help Support My Mother's Medical Care” to help cover:
- Hospital bills, medicines, and laboratory tests
- Consultation fees for pulmonology, endocrinology, and cardiology
